Laura Light Badenhorst obtained her LLB degree from Stellenbosch University in 2019 and commenced her articles of clerkship in January 2020. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in February 2022 and joined Gishen McLeod Attorneys as an Associate in October 2026.

Laura has over six years of experience in legal practice, with a particular focus on civil and commercial litigation, insolvency law, contractual disputes and debt recovery. She has experience in both High Court and Magistrates’ Court litigation, advising clients on a broad range of contentious matters, commercial agreements and the enforcement of contractual rights.

Laura enjoys the analytical and strategic aspects of legal practice and approaches each matter with diligence, attention to detail and a practical understanding of her clients’ commercial objectives.
