Jaco Pieterse has recently completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and joined Gishen McLeod Attorneys as a Candidate Attorney. He brings with him nearly 20 years of exceptional experience in environmental law, particularly animal welfare legislation and enforcement, having served for many years as Chief Inspector at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.

 

His career in animal protection has equipped him with a rare combination of practical investigative experience, resilience, ethical judgment, and a deep commitment to justice. Jaco brings extensive knowledge of animal welfare law, labour law, enforcement processes, and regulatory compliance, as well as valuable insight into advocacy and litigation driven environments. He is now focused on translating these skills into his legal training and contributing meaningfully to legal justice in South Africa.
